• What style of photography do you offer? Reportage or traditional?
My main aim is to provide you with a visual story of the day, and therefore my style is very much reportage/documentary. However, I appreciate that family and clients have a need for the traditional portrait, and will happily plan and coordinate these into the day. I wouldn’t recommend any more than 6-8 groups, which shouldn’t take more than 20-25 minutes. I shoot natural looking wedding photography but still manage to capture those fine art moments of magic.
• How many photographs will you take/provide us with?
There is no limit to the number of photographs taken, I will work all day taking as many images as I can, but in terms of what I provide as the final result, it can vary greatly depending on the length of the day, the size of the wedding, the location or the weather. You should expect a minimum of 500 fully edited images for a full days coverage, about 15-20 percent of these will be in black and white depending on the image itself. If you want both coloraturas and black and white, no problem.
• How long after the wedding do we see the images?
Usually, all of your images are ready to be dispatched 4 weeks after your wedding day. When they are ready I will send you an email with your password to an online gallery and slideshow! If you require an album, then work on this starts after you’ve had time to digest the images.
• Do you work with a second photographer?
For me, I prefer to work alone as this best suits my style of photography. Sometimes, another photographer can upset the balance and guests can feel the heat of a camera gunning them down! I ultimately want you and your guests to feel relaxed and slightly unaware that photos are being taken, that way, the photos are more natural and your guests are able to enjoy the day.
That said, there are occasions when this isn’t always the case, maybe the groom wants some shots in the morning, or the venue and size of your wedding require another photographer. Every wedding is different and unique, and it will always depend on your requirements for the day. A 2nd photographer can be provided if needed.
• Who owns the copyright of the images?
The copyright of the images always remains with the photographer, but I license my clients the right for you to produce the images in any way you wish. The only thing you cannot do with the images is use them for commercial re-sale.
• Do you do engagement shoots?
I certainly do. They’re a great way to remove any fears you have of being in front of the camera. Always informal and relaxed, it gives you a chance to have some fun and get some stunning portraits of you both before the big day.
• What cameras and kit do you use? Do you have backups?
I use 2 professional SONY Digital cameras with a collection of several high performance lenses. I ALWAYS shoot duel card recording to back up instantly
• Do you re-touch or enhance the images?
My rule of thumb is that for every hour I spend shooting a wedding, I spend an hour in post production making sure each and every image is as perfect as it can be. I always check the balance for lighting, color and contrast and will re-touch any images where appropriate, I add a subtle grade to the images which ensures it looks modern and timeless and wont look dated in a few years. There is no extra charge for this.
